Bart’s Bush Adventures offers personalised, small group 4 Wheel Drive tours for intrepid travellers. Guests have the opportunity to gain an insight into the rich spirit, history and diversity of the Cooktown Region with Bart, an accredited Savannah Guide, qualified zookeeper & World Heritage Tour Operator.

This region abounds with fascinating stories of gold fever, pastoral achievements and pioneering fortitude through adversity and abundance. Fortunes found and some yet to be discovered!

It is the classic Australian Outback, with the Great Barrier Reef as our neighbour. Eucalypts, wattles and a landscape featuring rough & rugged terrain tempered with the tranquil beauty of wetlands, rivers and waterfalls. Fascinating wildlife, amazing flora and a vibrant, dynamic, living Aboriginal culture make this country a must to experience.

Day tours take you to the incredible Coloured Sands & glorious Elim Beach- a seemingly never ending coastline of radiant colours. Feel the sand under your feet & enjoy a vast view of the Coral Sea and Cape Bedford as Lt James Cook may have seen it.

Experience the vast open spaces of Cape York Peninsula, remote roadhouses, wildlife spotting, secluded camping & a variety of accommodation styles.

We recommend at least 7 days to enjoy this great outback adventure! Cruise the Cape and travel in the Toyota Landcruiser GXL with Bart.

Drive up & back with Bart, fly /drive or drive/ fly, drive with Bart& travel by sea either to or from Cape York. There are great ways to explore the Cape & make the most of your trip!

Try a 7, 8, 9 10 or 12 day safaris - your choice of camping, accommodated or a combination of both! Treat yourself to a tour of Thursday Island and Horn Island for a real feel of the Torres Strait.

If you are short on time, we can get you to the Cape & back in 5 days!
